It's my first time with one and I had all kinds of fun hanging the antenna tower. Anyway, it's all up now and I'd like to get a more experienced operator's o...

Re: ARES Training for 12 January 2012

Since message-passing is such a crucial part of ARES, I would suggest that we put together some messages and practice this. I for one have seen the standard message template, but never used it. I'd feel a lot more professional and comfortable if there we had some sample messages that we could push t...

Re: Montana frequencies

Interesting Reference. This info is also listed in the Mutual Aid Frequencies manual available under the ARES links, but this list includes a few not on there.

Thanks

So now what?

I took the entire course and at the end it asked if I wanted to sign up as a spotter. I said yes, but haven't heard anything since. Is there something else I need to do to get signed up as an "official" spotter?

Wiring help

So when my house was originally built, there was a small room right off a bathroom that was obviously the room for the dryer, as it has a 220V plug there. I have now taken over that room and it has become by ham shack. There is only one other outlet in that room, and it is already running my DSL mod...

Jamboree On The Air

Can anyone post the actual date/time/location of JOTA? I'd like to participate and I have some contacts to spread the word.

Oh, and I found a potential patch from the Boy Scouts site.
