Army MARS

The Army is looking for a few good men & woman!
Become a member of the Army Military Affiliated System.

You you need is a current "General Class Amateur Radio License", complete the following NIMS courses, IS-100.a, IS-200.a, IS-700.a and IS-800.b. And complete the Basic Army MARS training manual and run a MARS net. Pretty easy, plus have the ability to modify your radio to transmit out of band on the Army MARS frequencies.
Ok, what is the MARS mission:
About MARS > Mission
* To provide Department of Defense sponsored emergency communications on a local, national, and international basis as an adjunct to normal communications.
* To provide auxiliary communications for military, civil, and/or disaster officials during periods of emergency.
* To assist in effecting normal communications under emergency conditions.
