5MHZ Interoperability Test 27 March - 07 April

ARRL put out a bulletin about the 5MHZ interoperability test taking place 27 March - 07 April 2014. I looked over the State DES Kenwood TK-90's with built in Automatic Link Establishment (ALE). I did not set up the ALE as the radios are all programed up for MARS. I will chat with the state MARS director Ed Nesselrod K6EN and maybe we can setup the ALE.
So I visited with Dan Hawkins N7SHM who is running PCALE and ALESTAT software to get the insite on who what when and where. Thanks Dan for showing me your setup and participating in the interoperability test. I came home and got it setup today 02 March in the receive mode. PCALE copies the data from a HF Radio through a soundcard interfance and passes it off to ALESTAT which sends it via the internet to HFLINK Headquarters for display on their web page. http://hflink.com/ is the main page and if you go to the ALE COM CENTER you can monitor live traffic, live mapupdates, or chat with other ALE operators.
I posted a screen shot of my station as I relayed in one of the government agencies 050NHQCAP on the 5MHZ band who is participating in the interoperability exercise. http://www.k7mt.com I will keep my station operational to the end of the test and get my transmit working.
Take a look and see if there is any interest as it is just another part of the Amateur Radio Hobby. This is the wonderful thing about this hobby as it has many different areas for one to enjoy.
Cheers Bill K7MT
