Hi gang - On my annual trip to a Minnesota Vikings game last year with Don Houck KG0QR Minnesota Lake, Mn., Don gave me a Comet GP-3 dual band antenna he was not using. It sat in my garage until yesterday when it was given to a local blind handi ham W7VPK Gale. Some of you know Gale from MTN as he does IMN !!!
I climbed up on Gale's roof yesterday morning and took down the old 2 meter mobile antenna before getting the 2 meter 70 cm Comet GP-3 up for Gale. It matches his new Kenwood V71A dual band radio he picked up a week or so ago.
If you hear Gale on the local repeaters, MARLA, or WR7AGT's 70cm linked system be sure and stop in and say howdy. He is one pretty excited dude to get the new radio and antenna operational.
Have fun Gale as it is meant to be.
Finally, if any of you out there get a chance to help a handi ham, I encourage you to do so as the intrinsic reward is a really good feeling.
Cheers Bill K7MT
