Hi Everyone, The 2015 ARRL Field Day is almost upon us! This years event will be held in the Great Falls DES rear parking lot ( same location as our general business meetings). Enter from 6th ST NW across the street and just south of the ole West Side Vets Club. Setup begins in the morning Friday June 26th. During the morning we will begin the process of moving all of the associated equipment into position, assembling antennas etc. If you are interested in helping out come on over and lend a hand! Many hands make light work so the saying goes. For information that morning call in on 146.52 or on the 146.74 repeater. You are also welcome to camp onsite however please be prepared to be fully self contained as water, power, and sewer connections are unavailable.
Operations begin at noon on Saturday the 27th and last until noon on Sunday the 28th. We will be operating with the club callsign of W7ECA and have at least 2 stations on the air, Digital and Phone. Anyone interested in operating either of these stations is more than welcome to do so. In addition we will have the Get On The Air or GOTA station operating with a coach or "Elmer" helping those who may be a little hesitant to operate one of the main stations and wish to get their feet wet and make a few contacts in a more relaxed setting. The GOTA station will be using AE7OC as it's callsign.
There is much much more going on than just this, so come on by this weekend and enjoy! Hope to see everyone there!

Re: CQ CQ 2015 Field Day Operations
By the way, as mentioned in the Volunteer Examiner (VE) section of this forum site, there will be a special ARRL VE test session on Saturday, 27 June 2015, at 10:00 AM. This test session is being held in conjunction with the ARRL Field Day event, which will be happening at the same location. This is a great opportunity to upgrade your license class, or get started in Amateur Radio by passing your Technician class exam. The Field Day event will allow folks to see various types of radio equipment set up for operation on HF, VHF, and UHF amateur radio bands. There will also be an information table available for those interested in learning more about "ham" radio.
