Good morning Bill.

If you get a chance to look at APRS, you will see an iGate/Digipeater in Butte. The location shows up in the middle of the Berkley Pit, but the actual location is on the upper west side.

It was put together by myself, James (KG7OMB) and Andrew (KG7OJS).

It is a Raspberry Pi, a Yaesu FT-1500M and a copper J-Pole.

It is going to be put up on Red Mountain this summer and we plan on having a wireless link back to town so we can monitor temperatures, snow depth and battery charge voltages, etc. We will also have the ability to have Echolink or IRLP or whatever else we want to do. We plan on having it off-grid.

Just thought I would let you know.

Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day. Enjoy it.

Hi Gene,
I ran across your post while searching for aprs digipeater info. I have an ft1500m and raspberry pi that I plan on using. Can you tell me what you are using for power and a tnc? Any info you can provide would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Darren
