DMR Helena, Mt

Howdy gang, Over the last month or so I have bee helping Tom WR7AGT and Mike KB8ML setting up Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) in the Helena, Mt. area.
Mac Pass was the first site with a HyTera Digital/Analog repeater placed into service. The Dual role has Digital linked to BrandMeister and the Analog linked to Echo Link. If you hear a digital noise on the MacPass 444.100 while listening on analog, set your decode or receive squelch on.
This last weekend, another Hytera Digital/analog repeater was activated on the North Hill site. This is no internet access for Brand Meister/Echo Link at North Hills, so a 5GHZ Ubiquity Link of 16.7 miles with Mac Pass so Brandmeister/Echo Link could be established.
A DMR information Web Site has been established and will be updated as new features/expansion is done with DMR.

It has been a wonderful learning experience for me and the fun is working folks all around the world on DMR. Most of the newer DMR radios also have a GPS build in so APRS is also a part of DMR.
Cheers all and have fun with a great hobby with great friends in a great country.
