Training for this week will be an introduction to the National Response Framework and the accompanying FEMA Institute IS-800b course. As described in the training brief, I will place the entire student manual for this course on the FORUM State ARES file section(http://www.w7eca.net/forum) . ARES members are also free to use the on-line training course from the FEMA institute. Attachments for this training session are the lesson synopsis, NRF Overview summary briefing, and the ICS 800 final exam. Our Discussion Item will be an ACTUAL SOP 3 Work Assignment message tasking ARES members to complete IS-800b by October 2012. As the SOP’s are a NCMARES specific operating procedure, other area EC’s are free to use this or implement their own policy actions to get the IS-800b training process underway.
