AA7GS Fall Notes !!!

Post by K7MT »

This is a re-posted from the AA7GS's Fall Posting to ARRL members. I believe it is good information for all Montana Hams.

Hi everybody, It sure seemed like a fast HOT summer, maybe fall is upon us with cooler temps and more moisture. Flooding in August?? Anyway with cooler temps coming it's time to make sure you outside "stuff" is in good enough shape to last the winter.

Congrats to TWO new ARRL affiliated clubs in Montana! Lewistown and Yaak. I attended Lewistown's first meeting as an affiliated club and the Yaak is on my list for the fall.

Here's a cut and paste about a new repeater in Musselshell County:
THIS NOTE IS TO INVITE YOU TO USE THE REPEATER LOCATED IN MUSSELSHELL COUNTY.
THIS IS AN OPEN CORDINATED STAND ALONE REPEATER LOCATED IN THE BULL MOUNTAINS.

THE FREQUENCY PAIR ASSIGNED TO THE REPEATER IS 146.720MHz (-) 100Hz TONE FOR ACCESS.
IT HAS THE CALL SIGN OFTHE MUSSELSHELL AMATEUR RADIO CLUB KF7ELT.

THE ANTENNA IS LOCATED AT AN ELEVATION OF 3700 FEET AND WITH A TRANSMITTER OUTPUT OF 25 WATTS.

I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY CONTACT REPORTS SO I CAN DETERMINE ITS RANGE.
AS VIVIAN AND I MONITOR IT HERE IN OUR CABIN MOST OF THE TIME WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET BACK TO ANY CONTACTS RIGHT AWAY. BUT, IF YOU ARE ABLE TO KEY UP AND GET A CORTESY TONE AND WE DON’T COME BACK TO YOU RIGHT AWAY SEND ME AN E-MAIL AND I WILL NOTE IT IN MY LOGS FOR AREAS OF CONTACT.

PLEASE PASS THE WORD TO OTHER HAMS ….

Also congrats to all of the operators in the first half of the "W1AW/7 Montana" ARRL Centennial celebration, from this group of operators the "Montana Sprinters" was born! A contest group that just completed The North American Sprint with very respectful scores!

Don't forget Montana gets another chance at the ARRL W1AW/7 Montana in December, Hope we can all get on and let the world there really ARE hams in Montana!!!

73 for now AA7GS
