SOTA Summits on the Air

Post by K7MT »

Hello all Rob AE7AP:

Barb and myself will be attempting our first ever winter SOTA activations for the much anticipated “Winter Summit to Summit Weekend” this Saturday (and possibly Sunday). There should be lots of SOTA stations on the air – making for plenty of opportunities for everyone to “chase” some summits. We are hoping to activate at least two, and possibly as many as three summits this weekend. This will also be the official SOTA debut for my new KX-3! The summits are all lower hills in the York area, and should offer a good 2-meter path to the Helena Valley. My schedule for Saturday (subject to change) is as follows:

Summit: W7M/CL-180

Points: 2-points

Date: 2/7/2015

Time: 9:30 (MST) – approx.

Freq’s: 146.52 – fm

14.3425 – ssb

7.032 – cw

Summit: W7M/CL-188

Points: 2-points

Date: 2/7/2015

Time: 14:30 (MST) – approx.

Freq’s: 146.52 – fm

14.3425 – ssb

7.032 – cw

I will not “spot myself” on 2-meters, but I will call on 146.52 both before and after the HF, and will be monitoring 146.52 throughout the day.
